The day one of the Lakme fashion week 2017's winter festiver season has kicked off today afternoon, at the St. Regis Hotel Mumbai, where the GenNext designers presented the most modern styles followed the most famous designer brands such as Sonal Verma,  Shweta Kapoor, Label Ritu Kumar, Sanya Malhotra, Nakita Singh

The GenNext designers like Anaam by Sumiran Kabir Chawla creatively uses silhouette generation techniques that involve a mix of draping and pattern making, to ensure minimum to zero wastage of fabric during production.

Shenali Sema and Rinzin Lama of Untitled Co. specialize in designs driven by embroidery techniques, and surface treatment creating wearable pieces of art.

Saaksha and Kinni created their bold collection using fabrics like chiffon and chanderi, along with metal woven sheets with thread work and cut work.

With Integument, Deepak Pathak plays around with techniques like jacquard knitting and flock printing, and fabrics like felt, wool blend and twill suiting.

Akshat Bansal’s collection explores age old techniques like tie and dye and crochet and creates a collection that remains androgynous at its core.
