The trends at the India couture week has the most versatile collections ever, ranging from the cape tops to the silvery plush and cocktail dresses this season. Designers like Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl, and Rahul Mishra brings the cape style blouses and tops.
The famous designer from Rahul Mishra experiments the couture fabric by sourcing the chintz from Japan. When it is woven with another fabric, it forms machine-washable couture. “The chintz at the show you saw was all machine-washable,” he says. And it is all these ingenious thoughts that he converts into action that makes Rahul, so, so cool.
The sporty bomber jacket transformed into the pure Indian couture teamed with the lehenga is the latest offering from Rahul Mishra we could see this season.
We could also witness this season how silver hues take the lead over other colors. Monisha Jaisingh and Shyamal Bhumika beautifully played with the silver for their collection.
While Monisha brings the cocktail dresses, Shyama-Bhumika introduced the indo-western fusion dresses.

The trends we spotted at the show were the translucent capes with the glimpses of shimmer in the white and gold saree. The key thing to notice in the collection was Rahul's Gypsy Lehengas in silver colors with added big and bold floral patterns.
Most of his offering, almost all were hand embroidered and he says, he also worked on something along the lines of Paul Signac’s (French Neo-Impressionist painter ) artwork called, The Pine Tree at St. Tropez.
Varun Bahl known for his love of roses reinvents the floral pattern this season of India couture week 2017. Taking an inspiration from the late 1800 Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Maria Mucha.
The Moravia-born artist was known to paint stunning women in flowing robes, which could be seen on the backs of Varun’s salmon pink capes. Though it was his work ‘La Pater’, or the Lord’s Prayer that he produced in 1899, which is considered a masterpiece.
The collection at the show was a mixed bag, the designer brings Indian to western silhouettes at the show, from Lehenga-blouse to western cocktail dresses. Following the footsteps of other designers, he brings the cape top teamed up with the western style dresses.
The color palettes were very energetic as the orange looks very prominent in his collection.
