The designer brings the romanticism in his collection with the use of ruffle, lace and the flowy silhouettes for his collection. The special detailing on necks and sleeves with a lot of layering up. The design takes an inspiration from the Edwardian era with the influence of Japanese street style that is little gothic in nature.

Exaggerated sleeves, smocking, and cinched-in waists were the tether to Victorian, with pearls also strewn along jacket sleeves, tights and accessories.

The strongest looks featured asymmetry on the neckline of a tailored Army coat, deconstruction in the modern interpretations of Victorian gowns and sheer accents throughout. Various plays on deconstruction, proportion, and asymmetry kept the inspiration alive. The diverse cast of models further punctuated individualism.

Adam Selman brings shimmer and glimmer into its fall collection taking an inspiration from the red roses. The styles are simple and modern with lots of sheer, Ruby red roses were embroidered on sheer dresses, shirts and pants done in ruby red floral embroideries. Up close, a rose print created in collaboration with artist Ricardo Fumanal revealed that the blooms were cheekily positioned between the legs of ladies.

A big inspiration was the 1975 book “American Denim,” which focuses on folky, hippie-ish customization of denim. Selman’s versions were fresh and cheerful with a mild western vibe — in line with the current moment of novelty, faux DIY’d jeans without feeling desperate to cash in on it.
