New Delhi- Its day two of the FDCI Amazon fashion week autumn winter 16 season, and yesterday we spotted fur coats/jacket at the runway shows of Pallavi Mohan and Hemant-Nandita show. Fur is already popular internationally which is considered as luxury fashion element either its real fur or faux fur. Since some of major designer brands started to experiment with production of faux fur being animal lover and to join the bandwagon of sustainable industry trend. Sustainable fashion promotes water saving, less pollution and rights of worker. Let’s not indulge yourself into that debate.
Fur was never into trend among Indian consumer as Indian weather is not that chilling compared to Europe and America. But nouveau designers like Dhruv Kapoor, Pallavi Mohan, , hemant-Nandita is creating new market for this. F-trend will publish full report citing the sustainability of fur trend in the context of India, business lifecycle. We didn't like Dhruv Kapoor's version of fur style as it’s not what current India women consumers are looking but the playful use of fur at neck, as collar for printed overcoat jacket by Hemant-Nandita looks appealing which is commercially viable.
