Pantone, the global color authority, announced two colors, "Ultimate gray and Illuminating Yellow " as the color of the year 2021.
According to the company, it is a story of color that encapsulates more deep-seated feelings of indulgence with the promise of something cheery and friendly. Pantone says the overall color direction is all re-defining and adding Strength and happiness among the consumers, especially when people are living in Chaos.
This is the second time in 22 years of Pantone's history chosen two-color of the years. The first time was in 2015 when Rose Quartz and Serenity were chosen, and It is also the first time that a gray has received attention and particularly the second time for a yellow. As it happens, both shades were added to the Pantone color wheel earlier this year, along with Period Red.
